We have two beautiful barn kitties who are our first-line of defense against any mice who try to take up residence in our barn … Mickey and Minnie. Minnie is a bit shy and slow to warm to you; not Mickey. He greets you with loud purrs as soon as you step inside the barn door. He usually follows me as I finish my chores each afternoon. He kisses the goats while they try to push him off from the top of the fence. He lets our Jersey, Clover, bathe him with her tongue. He stares at the ducks as they quack furiously at him. Today he followed me right into the chicken pen … no fear of the chickens and the hens did not appear to mind him either! Mickey has turned out to be quite the character!
